I used to wear nude and lighter shade eyeshadow all over the eye for a base before starting with the colours. Back then I wasnt a huge fans of eye primer nor the MAC Paint Pot yet. Even MAC PPs were just out last year. This is actually a great way to make the eyeshadow blend together more nicely and it will make them to stay longer throughout the day. I never done this again, espescially after taking the Beauty Workshop with one of MAC Trainer. I learn how to put my eyeshadow one by one, from inner lid, outer lid and hilite without having one colour all over as a base. My fave was Llama because of its matte texture, it actually help to grab the colour and it doesnt interfere much with the eyeshadow texture.
Today since I want to use a lot of pigment, I thought I’m gonna do the old trick by putting shimmertime all over the eye wet to give it more sheen and it helps the application of the wet eyeshadow to set faster since there’s already a base there.
Here’s what I use:
EOTD
MAC Fluidline, Silverstroke – Base
MAC Pigment, Shimmertime – All over
MAC Pigment, Mutiny – Inner lid
MAC Pigment, Teal – Middle of the lid
MAC Pigment, Forrest Green – Outer lid and crease up to the middle part
MAC Eyeshadow, Freshwater – Inner lid close to the lashes
MAC Eyeshadow, Nylon – Lower inner lash line
HIP E/L, Midgnight blue – Upper lash line
Bourjois Automatic Eyeliner Pencil, Black – Lower and upper waterliner
MM Mascara Base
MM Lash Enamel Glamour

I saw someone post a look using Sushi Flower & Bitter yesterday and It reminds me alot of the Inoui ID Quad No 9. Although bitter was more to the minty green side but on the picture it looks very much like golden yellow, probably the person was applying it wet. So I do exactly the same look with what I used to do with my quad No 9 but this time I’m using all MAC e/s. I applied Sushi Flower wet with mixing medium to get more intensity on the colour.
